✦ Our story
Built for
privacy first
Rifix started with a simple frustration: why should you upload a private contract to a stranger's server just to add a signature? Built and operated from Singapore, Rifix serves users worldwide with free, private, browser-based PDF tools.
Built by one person,
for real work
My name is Nowsath Rifaya. I work in operations and fleet management in Singapore, and PDF documents are a constant part of my daily work — vehicle agreements, rental contracts, insurance forms, billing documents. Every day, multiple PDFs to fill, sign, and send.
The tools I found online had one thing in common: they all required uploading my documents to an unknown server. For routine files that's inconvenient. For confidential company documents, client records, and signed contracts — it's a real privacy risk I wasn't comfortable with.
So I built Rifix. Not as a startup or a side-hustle pivot — but as a tool I genuinely needed for my own work. Browser technology had matured enough to process PDFs entirely in JavaScript, entirely on-device. No server. No upload. No privacy compromise.

How Rifix
works differently
Every PDF tool on Rifix runs entirely within your browser. When you open a file, it stays on your device. The JavaScript engine processes it locally — the same way your browser runs web apps. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
I built Rifix with AI assistance, teaching myself JavaScript and browser APIs as I went. That process convinced me that the gap between what a skilled individual can build and what was previously only possible for large teams has narrowed dramatically. Rifix is proof of that.
The technical foundation uses proven open-source libraries — PDF.js for rendering, jsPDF for generation, and Tesseract.js for OCR. These are audited by thousands of developers worldwide. I stand on their shoulders.

What we believe in
Why Rifix
How we compare to other PDF tools
Most online PDF tools upload your file to a remote server, impose file size limits, and delete your data "within 2 hours." Rifix is architecturally different — no server, no limits, no wait.

🔒
Privacy is a right
Your documents contain your life. A financial statement, a medical record, a personal contract — these deserve protection as a default, not as a premium add-on.
🌐
The web can do more
Modern browsers are extraordinarily capable. We believe the gap between native apps and web apps should shrink, not grow — and we're proving it with every tool we ship.
⚡
Speed matters
Local processing is faster than server round-trips. No upload wait. No queue. No download. Results in seconds, entirely offline if needed.
🤝
Free means free
No dark patterns. No "free tier" that runs out. No watermarks unless you're using the free version of a paid tool. Rifix is free because productivity tools should be accessible to everyone.

Why We Built Rifix
Every major PDF tool on the web uploads your documents to a server. Your bank statement, employment contract, medical letter, or client proposal passes through infrastructure you do not control, often in another country. Privacy policies promise deletion within hours, but the upload still happens. We thought this was an unnecessary risk for a category of work that computers can handle locally without any server involvement at all.
Modern browsers are powerful. The PDF.js library renders PDF files. pdf-lib manipulates and exports them. WebAssembly runs OCR at near-native speed. The Compression API resamples images. None of this requires a server. We built Rifix on this foundation: every operation runs locally in your browser, on your device, with no file leaving your machine.
The result is a PDF toolkit that handles the tools people actually use — compress, edit, sign, merge, split, OCR, convert — with a clean interface, no account requirements, no daily limits, and a privacy guarantee that is structurally enforced: there is no server to send files to.
Our Privacy Commitment
We do not upload your files. We do not log what documents you process. We do not require registration. We do not use cookies for tracking. The site loads over HTTPS and tools run offline after the page caches — you can verify by disabling your network connection and continuing to use any tool.
The AdSense advertising script on blog pages is the only third-party network call that occurs — tool pages like the PDF editor, compressor, and sign tool have no third-party scripts at all.
Tools Available
Edit & Sign: PDF text editor, sign PDF, fill forms, form builder.
Organise: compress, split, merge, rotate, crop, flatten, page numbers, watermark.
Scan & OCR: optical character recognition, scan cleanup and deskew.
Security: protect PDF (password), unlock PDF (remove restrictions).

Open for Feedback
If a tool does not work as expected, a feature is missing, or you have a suggestion, use the Contact page. We read every message. Rifix is built to be genuinely useful — feedback on what is and is not working helps us improve the tools that matter most.
