We built Rifix so privacy isn't a policy — it's the architecture. Here's exactly what we collect, and why it's almost nothing.
The short version: Rifix PDF Editor processes all your files entirely within your browser. Your documents never leave your device. We cannot see, access, store, or transmit your files — because they never reach our servers.
This Privacy Policy explains how Rifix PDF Editor ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website at rifixpdf.xyz (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Rifix is built on a privacy-first architecture. All PDF processing — editing, compressing, signing, splitting, merging, OCR, and converting — happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. No file data is ever transmitted to any server.
We collect minimal, anonymous technical data to understand how the service is used and to keep it running reliably.

We do not collect: names, email addresses, IP addresses stored to identifiable records, account information (we have no accounts), payment information (Rifix is free), or any contents of the files you process.
Your files are 100% private. When you open a PDF in any Rifix tool, the file is read by your browser's JavaScript engine — not uploaded to any server. Processing occurs in-memory on your own device. When you close the tab, everything is gone.
This is not a privacy policy promise that can be changed later — it is a technical reality. Our servers have no capacity to receive file data because no file upload endpoint exists in our code. You can verify this by inspecting network traffic in your browser's developer tools; you will see no file data transmitted.
We use open-source libraries (PDF.js, jsPDF, Tesseract.js) that run entirely client-side. Their source code is publicly auditable. There is no hidden server-side processing.
Rifix uses minimal browser storage to improve your experience:
Local Storage: We may store your preferences (such as preferred output quality settings) in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.
Analytics Cookies: We use privacy-respecting analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. These cookies do not contain personal identifiers.
Advertising Cookies: Google AdSense may set cookies on your device to personalise advertisements. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting the core functionality of Rifix's PDF tools.
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the website:
Web Hosting: Our static site files are served via a CDN. The CDN may log your IP address in accordance with standard server logging practices, but we do not retain or process these logs for tracking purposes.
Google Fonts: Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google may collect anonymised data from this request. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.
Rifix uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. For more information about Google's privacy practices, visit the Google Privacy Policy.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website. Users may opt out of Google's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data.
Because we collect so little identifiable data, most requests are automatically fulfilled by our architecture. Since we don't know who you are and don't store your files, there is nothing for us to delete or share.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): We process only anonymous analytics data. Our legal basis for this is legitimate interest. You may object at any time by contacting us. We do not transfer personal data outside the EU.
Rifix is a general-purpose productivity tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not reduce your privacy protections without prominent notice. Continued use of Rifix after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We will never change our core commitment: your files will always be processed locally and will never be uploaded to our servers. This is a fundamental architectural decision, not just a policy.
