Plain language terms for using Rifix PDF Editor. We've written these to be readable, not just legally safe.
By accessing or using Rifix PDF Editor ("Rifix", "the Service") at rifix.xyz, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Rifix provides free, browser-based PDF tools that operate entirely on your device. This includes tools for editing, signing, compressing, splitting, merging, OCR scanning, and converting PDF files. No account is required. No files are uploaded to our servers.
The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, but any free tools currently available will remain free or you will be given reasonable notice of changes.
We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of the tools. PDF processing results may vary depending on your browser, device capabilities, and the complexity of input files.

Important: You are solely responsible for the content of files you process using Rifix. By using the Service, you confirm you have all necessary rights to the documents you work with.
All files you open in Rifix are processed locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, or have any access to your files or their contents. You retain full ownership of all documents you process.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that: you own or have the necessary rights to the files you process; processing those files with our tools does not violate any third-party rights; and you are not using the Service to infringe copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property.
The Rifix name, logo, website design, and proprietary code are owned by Rifix and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use these without our prior written consent.
Rifix's tools are built on open-source libraries including PDF.js (Apache 2.0), jsPDF (MIT), and Tesseract.js (Apache 2.0). These libraries remain under their respective open-source licenses.
Nothing in these terms grants you a license to Rifix's proprietary code, branding, or other intellectual property beyond the right to use the Service as described.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that: the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; results from using the tools will be accurate or reliable; or the Service will meet your specific requirements.
Always keep backups of important files. While we take care to ensure our tools work correctly, you should not rely solely on Rifix for processing documents without retaining original copies.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rifix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, given the Service is free, would be zero).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.
We may update or change tools, add new features, or remove features. We will strive to maintain backward compatibility and give users reasonable notice of material changes.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be resolved in good faith through direct communication first.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also be entitled to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
