Crop PDF Pages Free

Remove margins, trim edges, or extract a specific region from PDF pages. Adjust the visible area of each page. Local processing — no upload.

PDF cropping removes unwanted areas from page edges — oversized white margins from scanned documents, dark borders left by scanner glass, or irrelevant content at page borders. You can also crop to a specific region to isolate a chart, table, map, or illustration as a standalone cropped page. The crop is permanent in the output and the page dimensions update to match your selection.

Common Cropping Scenarios

Removing scanner borders. Flatbed scanners often capture dark edges around the glass area. Crop a few millimetres from each edge to produce clean, border-free pages.

Trimming oversized margins. Documents exported from design applications sometimes have large margins that waste space in the final PDF. Cropping reduces the page to the content area.

Extracting a region. Crop to a specific area of the page — a chart in an annual report, a table in a research paper, or a map in a planning document — to create a focused single-page extract.

Creating consistent page sizes. When merging PDFs from different sources, pages may have inconsistent margins. Crop each source PDF to a consistent visible area before merging for a uniform result.

Removing headers and footers. Crop the top and bottom of pages to remove running headers, footers, or page stamps that are not needed in a repurposed version of the document.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is content outside the crop area deleted permanently?

The cropped content is hidden in the output PDF — the visible page area changes, but depending on the PDF viewer, a technical user could potentially reveal the hidden margins in a copy of the file. If permanent deletion of outside-crop content matters, run the cropped PDF through the Flatten tool to merge all layers into a single static image per page, ensuring the outside-crop areas are genuinely removed.

Can I apply different crop areas to different pages?

Yes. The crop tool lets you apply different crop regions per page. Set the crop area for each page individually before downloading the result.

Will text remain searchable after cropping?

Yes. Cropping is a display operation — the text layer in the remaining visible area is preserved intact. The document remains searchable and copyable after cropping.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. All cropping runs locally in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device.

Remove margins, trim edges, or extract a specific region from PDF pages. Adjust the visible area of each page. Local processing.

PDF cropping removes unwanted areas from page edges — large white margins from scanned documents, dark borders from scanner shadows, or irrelevant content at page borders. You can also use cropping to extract a specific region of a page — a chart, a map, or a table — as a standalone cropped page. The crop is permanent in the output file: the visible area changes to match your crop selection and the page dimensions update accordingly. Original PDF content outside the crop boundary is hidden, not deleted — a different viewer cannot reveal it without a copy of the original file. After cropping scanned documents, run OCR to make the content searchable.
